  • 1 cup chocolate chips Use semi-sweet or alternatives like butterscotch.

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder For leavening.
  • 1 pinch salt Enhances flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  • Stir until blended, then add in the eggs and vanilla extract; mix well until smooth.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  • Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  • Fold in the chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
  • Using a cookie scoop, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them out.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set and centers are slightly soft.

Notes

For best flavor, add a pinch of sea salt on top before baking. Consider adding nuts for extra texture. These cookies are perfect served with milk or ice cream.
