Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat for about 5-7 minutes, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  • Add the chopped onion and sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent.
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup and milk until well combined. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Spread the beef mixture evenly in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Top with the frozen French fries, spreading them evenly across the surface.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese generously over the French fries.

Cooking

  • Place the dish into the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes, or until the fries are golden brown and crispy on top.
  • Remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
  • Serve hot with ketchup and mustard to taste.
