Starch/Pasta

  • 2 cups cooked rice Use white or brown rice. Rinse before cooking for fluffiness.

Seasoning/Spice Blend

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Toast briefly in the pan for extra flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Toast briefly in the pan for extra flavor.

Liquids/Dairy

  • 1 can cream of chicken soup Stir well to combine for even distribution.
  • 1 cup milk Use for creaminess.

Aromatics & Vegetables

  • 1 cup broccoli florets Cut into small pieces to ensure even cooking.

Optional Finishing Ingredients

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese Mozzarella or pepper jack can be used as alternatives.
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs Consider toasting in butter for added crunch.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cooked rice, cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and broccoli florets if using. Stir until well mixed.
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish lightly.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

Baking

  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and breadcrumbs evenly on top.
  • Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  • Let it rest for 5-10 minutes before serving.
