Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with softened butter.

Make the Brownie Layer

  • In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  • Mix in cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared dish and spread it evenly.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.

Make the Cookie Layer

  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla.
  • Stir in flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips.

Assemble and Bake

  • Once the brownie layer is baked, drop spoonfuls of cookie dough on top of the brownie.
  • Spread the cookie dough gently and bake for another 15-20 minutes.

Cool and Serve

  • Allow the bars to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  • Slice into squares and serve.

Notes
