  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon Adds a warm spice flavor.
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed for best results.

Icing Ingredients

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, cream cheese, and sugar until smooth.
  • Add in the vanilla extract, flour, baking powder, and cinnamon. Mix until a dough forms.
  • Divide the dough into two parts. Roll out the first part into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  • Sprinkle the brown sugar and a bit of cinnamon on top. Roll the dough tightly.
  • Slice the rolled dough into 1-inch pieces and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Baking

  • Bake for about 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Icing

  • While they cool, make the icing by mixing the powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  • Drizzle the icing over the cooled cookies before serving.
