Ingredients
  

For the Cookies

  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour Sifted
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs Room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar For cinnamon sugar coating
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon For cinnamon sugar coating

For the Frosting

  • 4 ounces cream cheese Softened
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 1.5 cups powdered sugar Sifted
  • 1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract For frosting

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Set aside.
  • In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the room temperature eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Coating and Baking

  • In another bowl, combine the ½ cup granulated sugar with 1 tablespoon of cinnamon for coating.
  • Using a cookie scoop, form dough balls and roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
  • Place the coated cookie dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly.
  • Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers remain soft.

Frosting

  • While the cookies cool, prepare the frosting by beating the softened cream cheese and butter.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla, mixing until smooth.
  • Once the cookies are completely cooled, frost generously with the cream cheese frosting.

Notes

Sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the frosting for added flavor contrast. Serve them warm for a gooey delight that everyone will love!
