Creamy Mushroom Asiago Chicken

Ingredients
  

Main Protein

  • 4 pieces Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts Trim any fat, and gently pound to an even thickness for consistent cooking.

Starch/Pasta

  • 1 cup Seasoned Flour Mix flour with salt and pepper in a shallow dish.

Aromatics & Vegetables

  • 8 ounces Mushrooms Fresh white or cremini mushrooms, clean with a damp cloth and slice them.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 2 sprigs Thyme Fresh thyme.

Liquids/Dairy

  • ½ cup Dry White Wine Adds depth of flavor to the sauce.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Use full-fat cream for the best texture.

Optional Finishing Ingredients

  • 1 cup Grated Asiago Cheese Sprinkle into the sauce to melt.

Cooking Fats

  • 2 tablespoons Butter For sautéing.
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil For sautéing.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Begin by seasoning the flour with salt and pepper. Dredge each chicken breast in the flour, shaking off the excess.

Cooking Chicken

  • Heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook the chicken for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from the pan and set aside.

Cook Mushrooms

  • In the same skillet, add 8 ounces of sliced mushrooms and cook for about 5 minutes until golden. Add 4 cloves of minced garlic and 2 sprigs of thyme, cooking for 1-2 minutes more until fragrant.

Deglaze

  • Pour in ½ cup of dry white wine and scrape the bottom of the pan, cooking until the wine has reduced by half.

Add Cream

  • Lower the heat, and stir in 1 cup of heavy cream. Allow it to simmer gently for about 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.

Combine

  • Add the chicken back into the skillet, coating it in the creamy sauce. Sprinkle with 1 cup of grated Asiago cheese, stirring until melted and well combined.

Season and Serve

  • Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if needed. Serve immediately.

Notes

Enhance flavor by adding sautéed spinach or sun-dried tomatoes to the sauce. Feel free to customize the cheese; Parmesan or feta can create a different twist.
