  • Step 1: Combine Ingredients - In a large bowl, mix the fresh lime juice, lime zest, granulated sugar, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is fully dissolved (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Step 2: Add Dairy - Pour in the whole milk and heavy cream. Whisk together until well blended and smooth.
  • Step 3: Incorporate Vanilla - Stir in the vanilla extract and add the green food coloring drop by drop until reaching the desired brightness.
  • Step 4: Chill the Mixture - Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
  • Step 5: Freeze - Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to manufacturer's instructions until thick and soft-serve consistency (about 20-25 minutes).
  • Step 6: Firm Up - Transfer the sherbet to an airtight container and freeze for an additional 4-6 hours, or until firm.

Notes
