  • 1/2 cup sour cream Can substitute with Greek yogurt.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar works beautifully.
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions Slice just before serving for freshness.
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • olive oil or butter For cooking the steak.

Optional Toppings

  • bacon bits Optional for extra flavor.
  • additional herbs For gourmet touches.

Instructions

Cooking Loaded Steak Potatoes

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the two potatoes on a baking sheet and bake for about 45 minutes until tender.
  • While the potatoes bake, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add in the steak and season with salt and pepper. Sear the meat for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  • Once the steak is cooked, remove it from the pan and deglaze the skillet with a splash of water or broth, scraping up browned bits.
  • Prepare the toppings by mixing sour cream, shredded cheese, and half the green onions in a bowl.
  • When the potatoes are ready, slice them in half and fluff the insides with a fork. Generously pile on the steak mixture and the creamy blend.
  • Return the loaded potatoes to the oven for an additional 5 minutes at 350°F (175°C) to melt the cheese completely.
  • Sprinkle the remaining green onions and any other optional toppings on top, serve hot, and enjoy.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the steak and customize toppings based on preferences.
