  • Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside. In the same pan, add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing for about 2-3 minutes until fragrant and soft.
  • Pour in the chicken broth, scraping up any brown bits stuck to the bottom. Let it simmer for about 2 minutes to reduce slightly.
  • Reduce heat to medium-low and slowly stir in the heavy cream and Italian seasoning, cooking for 2-3 minutes until warmed through and slightly thickened.
  • Return the chicken to the pan, distributing it evenly within the creamy mixture. Let it simmer for another 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the sliced pepperoncini and season with salt and pepper. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  • Serve the creamy chicken over a bed of pasta, rice, or veggies, garnishing with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes
