Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rub the brisket generously with the spice blend.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear the brisket for about 4-5 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the brisket and add sliced onions to the pan, cooking for about 5 minutes until softened. Stir in smashed garlic for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Cooking

  • Deglaze the pan with 1 cup of beef broth and scrape the bottom for flavorful bits.
  • Layer the brisket in a slow cooker and add the sautéed onions, garlic, remaining broth, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, and optional ingredients.
  • Set slow cooker to low and cook for 7-8 hours until fork-tender.
  • Once done, let the brisket rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For enhanced flavor, consider marinating the brisket overnight. Customize spices to your liking, serving options are versatile.
