  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup rice (uncooked) Can use white or brown rice
  • 2 large bell peppers (diced) Any color bell peppers can be used
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste Add to preference
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional) Cheddar or any favorite cheese

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add the chopped onion and diced bell peppers to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables soften, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in the uncooked rice, tomato sauce, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
  • Cover the skillet and reduce the heat to low. Simmer until the rice is tender and has absorbed the liquid, about 15 minutes.
  • If desired, sprinkle shredded cheese on top and cover for a few minutes until melted. Serve warm.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of Worcestershire sauce while cooking. Customize by including your favorite veggies, like corn or zucchini. Consider serving with a dollop of sour cream or avocado for creaminess.
