  • 1 tablespoon Gochujang (Korean chili paste) Start with a small amount and adjust for spice preference.
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce

Aromatics

  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced) To enhance the broth's flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger (grated) Adds depth to the broth.
  • 3 pieces Scallions (sliced) For garnish.

Finishing Touches

  • 2 tablespoons Cilantro (for garnish) Chop before adding.
  • 1 teaspoon Chili flakes (optional) Add for extra spice.

Preparation

  • Begin by pouring your chicken or vegetable broth into a large pot.
  • Heat it over medium-high heat until it starts to simmer.
  • Once the broth is simmering, stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Let them cook for about 2 minutes until fragrant.

Cooking

  • Add in the Gochujang paste and soy sauce, mixing well.
  • Allow it to simmer for an additional 3-5 minutes until fully blended into the broth.
  • Carefully add the wontons to the broth. Cook them for about 4-5 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  • Taste the broth and adjust seasoning if necessary.
  • Remove the pot from heat and ladle the broth and wontons into bowls, garnishing with sliced scallions and cilantro.

Serving

  • Serve hot and enjoy the aromatic flavors.

Notes

For extra depth, consider adding a splash of rice vinegar. You can customize by adding veggies like bok choy or mushrooms.
